We need to grow more on less land.
By farming differently and working with multifunctional landscapes, a single field can support the climate, the farmer, and the factory.
From Crops to Circular Land Use
New Role for Agriculture
Sustainable, Ground-based Biosolutions for a Balanced Agriculture
Agriculture plays a key role in the green transition. For Denmark to reach its climate goals and meet the EU’s standards for environmental health and water quality, we need new solutions that reduce greenhouse gas emissions and nutrient loss – without undermining the economy of rural areas.
Instead of seeing nature and production as opposites, we work with nature-based solutions where agriculture develops in harmony with natural processes. These solutions create value for the climate and environment – while also building strong, competitive businesses. We like to call it sustainable, ground-based biosolutions.
Our approach is based on a fundamental principle: Nature must be used on its own terms. By giving nature space within agricultural production, we create a balanced landscape – vibrant, productive, and green – and a bioeconomic industry with a real competitive edge.
How We Work
Green biorefining and protein production
We develop circular business models where grass and other perennial crops are refined into protein for feed, food, and ingredients. This reduces climate impact, lowers import dependency, and creates local value.
New crop rotations and varieties
We work with crop rotations where production and environmental care go hand in hand. Perennial crops capture carbon, reduce nitrogen leaching, and strengthen biodiversity.
Land and landscape planning
Using scenario tools, we support planning across farms and landscapes. This makes it possible to prioritize actions where they have the greatest impact on climate, environment, and economy.
Interplay between regulation and innovation
We test new solutions in practice and collaborate with authorities, businesses, and farmers to apply regulations more flexibly – without compromising environmental goals.
A sustainable future in interaction
In agriculture, in value chains, and in the landscape.
