The Bioventure Zone Accelerator aims to speed up the development of new biosolutions industries based on bio- and nature-based crop solutions. The goal is solutions that contribute to climate and environmental targets while creating new jobs and business opportunities in rural areas.

Sustainable solutions for the industries of tomorrow

The project is guided by a fundamental ambition: to maintain strong food production while developing new green industries.

This requires new industrial solutions based on crops like grass and beets – high-yield, nature-based raw materials that can be part of the bioeconomy of the future. These are what we call ground-based biosolutions.

The technologies are already advanced. The main challenge is creating the right framework conditions so solutions can be scaled and implemented widely. That’s why Klimafonden Skive works strategically with both regulatory frameworks and new forms of collaboration.

The project also contributes to developing regulatory frameworks needed to make the transition possible. Local communities are involved too – both as supporters and participants in shaping the landscapes and ecosystems of the future.

Living Lab for the Green Transition

With DKK 20 million in support from the Novo Nordisk Foundation, Bioventure Zone Accelerator is a central part of Klimafonden’s living labs.

Here, new production methods are tested in practice – solutions that must be both climate- and environmentally responsible as well as economically sustainable. The living lab also demonstrates how new bioindustries can develop to benefit supply security, biodiversity, climate, and rural development.
